From 7 to 10 May 2026, representatives of the Association of Chemical Engineers of Serbia took part in the 56th EYE Conference – Engineering the Twin Transition, held in Naples, Italy. The conference brought together young engineers from across Europe and provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experience and ideas about the future of engineering and the twin transition.
The conference programme included a series of professional and study visits, with the visit to Leonardo S.p.A. in Pomigliano d’Arco standing out in particular. Participants had the opportunity to learn about modern manufacturing processes and the application of Smart Factory solutions. Of particular interest was an insight into the development of components for aerospace programmes such as ATR, Boeing 767 and Boeing 787, as well as the ways in which technological innovation is shaping the modern aerospace industry.
The second part of the professional programme included a visit to the Apple Developer Academy, where participants had the opportunity to learn about its approach to learning, app development and technology entrepreneurship, and to speak with the Academy’s mentors and students.
In addition to the professional programme, the conference included a range of cultural activities. Participants had the opportunity to explore Naples, Pompeii and other important sites, complementing the professional programme with cultural exchange and an introduction to the local heritage.
The next EYE Conference will be held from 24 to 27 September 2026 in Porto, Portugal.
The Association of Chemical Engineers of Serbia invites young chemical engineers to join the Association and take advantage of opportunities to participate in international activities, conferences and projects within European Young Engineers (EYE).
